All riders must wear a helmet and display their bib and reflective sticker when participating in the Big Fat Ride. For the safety of all riders and your pets, we request that dogs are not brought on the route during the Big Fat Ride. Thank you!
Big Fat Ride Staging Areas: BigFatRide Route & Staging Areas.pdf
2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
All registered riders should proceed to the Big Fat Ride staging areas which include E and F Street, between 4th and 5th Avenue. Additional staging is available in Town Square.
The Anchorage Police Department will be assisting riders cross at the corner of E St and 5th Ave, and under the sky bridge at F St and 5th Ave. Please avoid riding on the pedestrian sidewalks and always use the crosswalks to cross 5th Avenue safely and legally.
Big Fat Ride Route:
3:30 PM Start – 5:00 PM End. Course must be cleared for snow removal.
The official start will take place at 4th and D Street, following the Fur Rondy Sled Dog competition. We’ll follow the route of the Fur Rondy Sled Dogs until connecting to the Chester Creek Trail where the route heads west toward Westchester Lagoon and merges on to the Coastal Trail for the final leg which ends at 2nd Ave and Christensen.

After the Big Fat Ride:
Head to Brown Bag Sandwich Company, located at 3rd Avenue and F Street, after the ride to share tips and tricks from the trails around Anchorage. Bike Anchorage will draw winners from the raffle tickets at 6:00 pm. A bike check for registered riders will be available from 4pm – 6pm.
